On ViewStub there are three different types of promotions you can create. The differences in these kinds of codes are listed below:
1) Discount Code: One code may be created for multiple uses. Typically this code is used for social media sharing or to the general public.
2) Sales Code: This code will be for tracking purposes only
3) Free One Time Use Code: A code must be created per user and the new amount is automatically set to zero. This is to prevent the integrity of your event with free entry.
Once you understand the kind of code that you wish to create continue with this tutorial below:
Step 1: Acces your edit event page.
Step 2: Scroll down to the Ticket section and click the 'More Options' button next to 'Add Ticket' button. Promotions will appear as an option. Click this to open the promotions window.
Step 3: Select the ticket you wish to assign the promotional code to. This means you can only create a promo code for one ticket at a time. Should you need the same code per ticket you must repeat these steps.
Step 4: Select the kind of Promotional code you wish to create.
Step 5: Name your code. This will be sued for tracking purposes and if applicable, the code that attendees will apply at checkout.
Step 6: If applicable, enter the new amount. This is not how much is to be discounted. The system also does not calculate percentages. You must enter the new price that you wish your attendees to pay after the discount. All inputs must be integers (whole Numbers) the system does not accept decimals (cents).
Step 7: Click Add Promotion when ready. Your promotion will be listed at the bottom of the promotional dashboard where you can delete them if needed. To delete, click on the three dot menu button.
To add the same promotional code to another ticket, repeat these steps for that ticket.
End of Tutorial.
